This Privacy Policy describes how Uncharted Coffee LLC, doing business as Uncharted Coffee Supply ("Uncharted Coffee," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information when you visit or use our Shopify-powered website, purchase our products, contact us, subscribe to our communications, interact with us on social media, or purchase our products through a third-party marketplace or retail platform (collectively, the "Services").

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to an individual or household. It does not include information that is publicly available, deidentified, or otherwise excluded from the definition of personal information under applicable law.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected independently by third-party websites, marketplaces, applications, or services. Their privacy policies govern their own practices.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers and contact information: name, email address, telephone number, billing address, shipping address, account username, customer number, IP address, and similar identifiers.
• Account and authentication information: account credentials and information used to verify or secure your account. Passwords are processed through our ecommerce and authentication providers.
• Commercial and transaction information: products viewed, cart activity, purchases, returns, refunds, discounts, subscriptions, order history, delivery information, and customer preferences.
• Payment information: payment card details, billing information, and transaction information. Complete payment card numbers are generally collected and processed directly by Shopify, payment processors, or other payment providers rather than stored by us.
• Internet, device, and network activity: browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, approximate location derived from IP address, session activity, and interactions with our website, emails, or advertisements.
• Communications and customer service information: emails, messages, reviews, survey responses, social media interactions, support requests, photographs or other content you choose to submit, and records of our communications with you.
• Marketing and preference information: communication preferences, consent records, promotion entries, and your interactions with marketing messages.
• Inferences: preferences or likely interests inferred from purchases and interactions with the Services.
• Other information you provide: any other information you voluntarily submit to us.

Some information, such as account credentials and payment information, may be considered sensitive personal information under certain laws. We use sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide requested goods or services, process payments, maintain account security, prevent fraud, comply with law, or for other purposes permitted without a right to limit under applicable law. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

2. Sources of Personal Information

• Automatically from your device, through cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, server logs, and similar technologies.
• From service providers and business partners, such as Shopify, payment processors, fraud-prevention providers, fulfillment and shipping providers, analytics providers, advertising partners, and customer-support vendors.
• From third-party platforms, such as Target, Amazon, social media platforms, and other marketplaces or retail partners, when permitted by their terms and applicable law.
• From other lawful sources, including public sources or information you authorize another person or organization to provide.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
• Process payments, fulfill orders, arrange shipping, provide order updates, and manage returns or refunds;
• Create and administer customer accounts and subscriptions;
• Respond to questions, reviews, complaints, and customer-service requests;

• Ecommerce and hosting providers, including Shopify, that operate our online store and related services;
• Payment and fraud-prevention providers that process transactions and help protect customers and our business;
• Fulfillment, logistics, and shipping providers that prepare and deliver orders;
• Technology and professional service providers, including cloud hosting, information security, customer support, email, accounting, legal, and business operations providers;
• Analytics, marketing, and advertising partners that help us understand use of the Services, measure campaigns, and provide advertising, subject to your applicable choices;
• Marketplace and retail partners when necessary to fulfill orders, manage product listings, address customer requests, or meet platform requirements;
• Government authorities, courts, and other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and
• Parties to a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.

We may also disclose information at your direction, with your consent, or as otherwise disclosed when the information is collected.

5. Orders Through Target and Other Third-Party Platforms

If you place an order for our products through Target.com or another third-party marketplace or retail platform, that platform may provide us with limited personal information needed to fulfill and support your order. This may include your name, shipping address, contact information, order details, and platform-provided order identifiers.

For Target guest information, we use the information only as permitted by our agreement with Target, including to:

• Fulfill, ship, confirm, modify, or cancel the order;
• Provide order-related customer support;
• Prevent fraud and maintain security; and
• Comply with legal obligations and Target requirements.

We do not use Target guest information to send our independent marketing communications or to conduct surveys, contests, or sweepstakes. We may disclose Target guest information to authorized contractors and service providers only as needed to fulfill the order, provide support, maintain security, or comply with law.

Target independently collects and processes information under the Target Privacy Policy. Other third-party platforms process information under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, keep items in your cart, secure transactions, understand website performance, measure marketing, and provide or personalize advertising.

These technologies generally fall into the following categories:

• Strictly necessary: required for core website, checkout, account, fraud-prevention, and security functions;
• Functional: remember choices and provide enhanced features;
• Analytics: help us understand traffic, usage, and performance; and
• Advertising: help measure campaigns and show advertisements that may be more relevant to you.

Our providers may include Shopify, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and other providers associated with the tools and sales channels we use. The specific cookies and providers may change as our Services evolve.

You can manage nonessential cookies through the cookie banner or cookie-preference tool available on our website and through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect website functionality. Browser-based "Do Not Track" signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry, so we do not respond to them as a separate signal. We do, however, process legally recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as described below.

7. Targeted Advertising; Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies, pixels, Shopify features, or similar technologies may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or use for "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

During the preceding 12 months, the categories of personal information that may have been sold, shared, or processed for targeted advertising are identifiers, commercial information, internet or other electronic network activity, and inferences. The categories of recipients are advertising, analytics, social media, and ecommerce technology partners. We use these disclosures to measure advertising, understand campaign performance, and present advertising based on activity over time and across websites or services.

You may opt out by visiting our Your Privacy Choices page or by using the cookie-preference tool on our website. Where required by law, we also treat a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out for the browser and device sending the signal. You may need to renew your choice if you use another browser or device or clear your cookies.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18 for targeted advertising.

8. Marketing Communications

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. You may opt out of promotional text messages by following the instructions in the message, such as replying STOP. We may continue to send non-promotional communications, including order, account, security, and customer-service messages.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain business and transaction records, comply with tax, accounting, legal, and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and protect our rights.

The retention period depends on the type of information, the nature and duration of our relationship with you, legal or contractual requirements, the sensitivity of the information, and the risks associated with unauthorized use or disclosure. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to technical limitations and legal requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password, protect your account credentials, and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

11. Your U.S. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

• Confirm whether we process your personal information and access that information;
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• Request deletion of personal information;
• Obtain a copy of certain personal information in a portable format;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
• Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• Request a list of certain third parties to which we disclosed personal information, where required; and
• Appeal our decision concerning a privacy request.

Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records. We may ask you to verify your identity using information reasonably related to your prior interactions with us. We will use verification information only to process the request. If we cannot verify your identity or authority, we may be unable to complete the request.

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request where permitted by law. We may require proof that you authorized the agent and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us. A parent or legal guardian may submit a request on behalf of a minor.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing hello@unchartedcoffee.com with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond within the period required by applicable law and provide information about any further complaint options that may be available.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including when an exception applies, the request cannot be verified, or the request is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive.

12. Additional Information for California Residents

This section supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 from the sources described in Section 2, used them for the purposes described in Section 3, and disclosed them to the categories of recipients described in Section 4.

For business purposes, we may disclose identifiers, customer-record information, commercial information, internet or network activity, payment-related information, communications, preferences, and inferences to service providers and contractors that support ecommerce, payments, fraud prevention, order fulfillment, delivery, customer service, analytics, marketing, information technology, security, and professional services.

The categories that may be sold or shared, as those terms are defined by California law, are identified in Section 7. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that give rise to a right to limit under California law.

California residents may exercise the rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing, as described in Section 11. California residents may also request information about certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes under California's Shine the Light law by contacting us using the information below.

We do not currently offer a program that we consider a financial incentive or price or service difference related to the collection, deletion, sale, or sharing of personal information. If we offer such a program in the future, we will provide the required notice and obtain any required consent.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to third-party websites, applications, social media platforms, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy, security, or content. Review the privacy policy of any third party before providing personal information.

15. Processing Outside Your State or Country

We and our service providers may process personal information in the United States and other locations where we or they operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or business operations. We will post the revised policy and update the Effective Date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
